Zbigniew Brzezinski as I Knew Him
Paul Craig Roberts • February 12, 2019

“When you hear a source called a ‘Russian agent,’ an ‘anti-semite,’ or a ‘conspiracy theorist,’ you had better listen to them. These are those in the know who accept arrow slings in order to tell you the truth.”

I decided to repost this column for several reasons. One is that the misrepresentation of Brzezinski as a neoconservative illustrates the cavalier attitude toward truth that characterizes our era. The rise in the West of denunciation as a more effective force than truth bodes ill for the survival of the Western World.

Throughout the Western World name-calling has taken the place of reasoned debate. A person who criticizes Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians or the Israel Lobby’s influence over the US government and academic appointments is labeled an “anti-semite,” a name that the Israel Lobby uses to discredit critics.

A person who points out that reckless and irresponsible accusations against Russia can lead to war is labeled “a Russian agent.”

A person who is too well-informed to believe the official stories of the Gulf of Tonkin, the assassinations of Martin Luther King and John and Robert Kennedy, 9/11, and the USS Liberty is said to be a “conspiracy theorist.” In other words, if you don’t accept the official stories, all of which are disproved by hard facts, you are discredited.

Facts no longer matter in the West. If you merely report some expert’s analysis that dissents from officialdom, you as a reporter are labeled along with the expert as a conspiracy theorist, a Russian agent, or an anti-semite. The belief is that if youl did not believe the expert, you would not have reported what he said. Little wonder the print and TV news avoids dissent from official explanations, unless the explanations are President Trump’s.

Throughout the Western World facts are persona non grata.

The consequence is that the Western World has isolated itself from reality and lives in illusions and delusions. Consequently, the West’s chances of survival are minimal.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out why the presstitutes marginalize Pat Buchanan, Paul Craig Roberts, et al. and canonize Kissinger and Brzezinski.

Zbigniew Brzezinski: America’s Grand Strategist
Justin Vaisse, translated by Catherine Porter
Reviewed by Walter Russell Mead May/June 2018

Vaïsse’s biography of U.S. President Jimmy Carter’s national security adviser, Zbigniew Brzezinski, reminds readers just what an extraordinary phenomenon this Polish outsider was. By the late 1970s, when Brzezinski rose to prominence, the old well-heeled and well-bred WASP foreign policy establishment had imploded under the strain of the Vietnam War and yielded to a new elite from more diverse backgrounds. Both Brzezinski, whose father was a Polish diplomat stranded in Canada by the Nazi conquest of Poland and then the Soviet-backed communist takeover of 1945, and his friend and rival Henry Kissinger, whose family fled Nazi persecution in Germany, possessed a gift for strategic vision that few of their American-born contemporaries could match. Into a foreign policy community increasingly composed of technocrats, political scientists, and area specialists, Brzezinski and Kissinger brought a more generalist and historical perspective. Of the two, Kissinger has always been the better known and the more controversial. Vaïsse’s evenhanded appraisal of Brzezinski’s contributions to U.S. foreign policy will help redress the balance and will introduce a new generation of readers to a great American strategist.

Looking back, two questions come to mind:

1) Was the war good for the Vietnamese or Americans?

2) Have Kissinger and Brzezinski's shenanigans truly been good for the Jews?

The Fascinating History and Political Lives of Jews in Iran
by Ariel Gold, December 27, 2019

On the first morning after our arrival, our group of 12, one-third of whom were Jewish, boarded our tour bus to visit Iran’s largest synagogue, the Yusef Abad synagogue in Tehran. The first thing we noticed was the lack of security. Walk by any synagogue in Manhattan and you will find at least one security guard, usually more. Last year walking by the København synagogue in Copenhagen, Denmark, I was struck by how the religious sanctuary was like an unwelcoming fortress. The entire building was surrounded by an iron gate, and the entrance had an armed guard and far more defenses than you find in most airports. Iran’s Yusef Abad synagogue, however, had no security guard, or even a local congregant posted at the front door. The door was unlocked, and we walked right in. The lack of security, we learned, was because synagogues in Iran are safe places.

You have to understand that these people over there wake up every single day trying to plan another 9/11…”

1) Guys like Dan Crenshaw go over there and terrorize innocent people who had nothing to do with 9/11.

2) The terror victims who are forced to flee their homelands go to whatever country that will take them in. Over the last 20 years Iran has taken in over 2 million refugees from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Lebenon, Palestine,Yemen, etc.

3) The refugees who come to America or go to Europe are labeled “invaders/terrorists” by the locals.

Unintended consequences?

I saw an interview with Dan Crenshaw last night and couldn't stomach it. I could tell he was lying and he knew it.

That was pretty much it for my mom. Due to the top dollar chemo, radiation & surgeries she endured her condition (surprise, surprise) worsened. She was worried about what would happen to us in a war torn country with an uncertain future upon her passing.

We moved to L.A. because she wanted her siblings to look after us in the event she died. Lo and behold, she succumbed to the cutting-burning-poisoning in 1987. RIP Mom!

I’ve noticed a lot of people kvetching about the prospects of the US reducing its presence or pulling out of the ME. Some people have legitimate concerns for the safety of Israel. They worry that left to its own devices; Iran would try to “wipe Israel off the map.” That’s preposterous. First of all, Iran doesn’t have a history of doing such things. Iranians don’t have a desire to wipe anyone off the map. Second of all, if they had such a seething hatred for Jews, then how is it that the largest Jewish community in the ME, outside of Israel, is in Iran (a crucial fact ignored by the mainstream media)?

The Ayatollahs and Mullahs are on their last leg and they know it! ;)

Any attempt to attack Israel would be the immediate end of them. Iranians wouldn’t stand for it. Moreover, the international community wouldn’t stand for it either. Many say we’ve crossed the Rubicon and Iranians hate Americans now, wanting vengeance and whatnot. Nonsense! Iranians are more sophisticated than that. They don’t judge people based on their government’s actions. Besides, the man lived by the sword and died by the sword.

Iranians would gladly welcome Americans and Israelis at any time so long as they aren’t armed to the teeth and on the hunt for Amalek.

Others say everything would fall apart in the ME if the US were to withdraw. My question to them would be, how did they manage to carry on for thousands of years before America even existed?

On a personal note, I’ve known many Israeli’s over the years. The icebreaker has always been me saying Iran’s government doesn’t speak for Iranians and them saying the same for their government. We, the people, get along. If certain elements within the governments of Iran, Israel and the US were to be put in check or neutralized, then all this insane and unfounded fear mongering (on all sides) would fade away…

The Roots of American Demonization of Shi’a Islam
Pepe Escobar • January 17, 2020
The US targeted assassination, via drone strike, of Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani, apart from a torrent of crucial geopolitical ramifications, once again propels to center stage a quite inconvenient truth: the congenital incapacity of so-called US elites to even attempt to understand Shi’ism – thus 24/7 demonization, demeaning not only Shi’as by also Shi’a-led governments.

Washington had been deploying a Long War even before the concept was popularized by the Pentagon in 2001, immediately after 9/11: it’s a Long War against Iran. It started via the coup against the democratically elected government of Mosaddegh in 1953, replaced by the Shah’s dictatorship. The whole process was turbo-charged over 40 years ago when the Islamic Revolution smashed those good old Cold War days when the Shah reigned as the privileged American “gendarme of the (Persian) Gulf”.

https://www.unz.com/pescobar/the-roots- ... hia-islam/

With the utmost respect to Señor Escobar; how many times must we beat the “Puppet Shah” piñata?

How did Iran manage to get by for millennia before Islam, America and democracy (especially the “miracle year” that was 1953)?

How well has the Ayatollah’s dictatorship served the people of Iran over the last 40 years?

How much longer will the Mullahs continue to blame all of Iran’s problems on the “big and little (US, Israel) Satan”?

Don't Iranians living in Iran have the right to determine their own form of government (possibly sans Supreme Leader and/or Shah)?

My Father, SIMON DAVIDIAN, was born in Abadan. After reading this article I now (think) I know why he had such a predilection for Clarks’ shoes and Ray-Ban Aviator shades.

When Iran’s Abadan was Capital of the World

With the new society came an obsession with looks and image. Abadanis were famous for their sense of fashion and for the distinct Abadani look.

The most important item was sunglasses, a trade mark of Abadan — to such an extent that there is a whole genre of jokes in Iran related to the Abadani love of Ray-Bans. But also Western clothing, Clarks’ shoes and beach sandals, American jeans and British shirts defined Abadani chic. “When we traveled up to Mashhad,” a banker tells me, “our friends would ask us to bring clothes.” An Abadani would spend much time and energy on grooming, and was a heavy user of perfumes and beauty products. The contrast between the traditional look and that of a refinery worker out for a Thursday evening stroll was sharp.

https://ajammc.com/2015/02/18/abadan-ca ... the-world/

Rest in Peace, my dear dad!

Yours truly,

HENRIK DAVIDIAN
