UFC middleweight champion Anderson "Spiderman" Silva has become Elastic Man after temporarily sporting a chewing gum leg during a fight against Chris Weidman.

The next screengrab is from after the fracture. No chewing gum here.

Still no sign of pain. The fight must go on!

Happy retirement, Spiderman! Your fans will forgive this little disappearing act. Say hello to the tour guide in Bora-Bora.

"Fracture"! Holy moly, that looks more like fractals!

What I'm saying is, I always thought sports was a racket, but here it seems like the game is truly rigged.

Thanks for adding a little animation to the discussion, Flabbergasted.

100-Year-Old Negatives Discovered in Block of Ice in Antarctica

For the past 100 years, a box of never-before-seen negatives has been preserved in a block of ice in Antarctica. Recently, Conservators of the New Zealand Antarctic Heritage Trust came across the 22 exposed, but unprocessed, cellulose nitrate negatives during an attempt to restore an old exploration hut.

The negatives are believed to be from Ernest Shackleton's 1914-1917 Ross Sea Party, a group that was stranded in the hut during a blizzard when their ship blew out to sea. They were eventually rescued, but the box remained buried until now.

A Wellington photography conservator carefully processed the negatives in order to reveal the historic mysteries on each frame. Though slightly damaged, the incredible images give us a rare glimpse of adventurers from the past. AHT Executive Director Nigel Watson says, “It’s the first example that I’m aware of, of undeveloped negatives from a century ago from the Antarctic heroic era. There’s a paucity of images from that expedition.”
Second photo in particular looks suspect to me. Thoughts?

If they are real, there's nothing left of them but collage. Could go either way on this one. At first glance, they look easily composed in Photoshop. Who knows?

Right on.

Woops, that started a new page.

I'm talkin' 'bout the New Year, y'all. Have a great one!

Not to pollute the topic of being happy with dreadfully dull things but if you follow the stats page, we have seen an increase in unique users for three months in a row. Since these have been three of the slower months, we might — if we were being optimistic — assume that our minimum increase in unique users per month were growing.

Our last slow month saw 24,000 unique users.

October saw 25,209
November 27,816
and December 28,487

So, whatever that even means. I like to think that it's good. Even at such a slow rate, we can expect monthly unique visits to increase to 1,000 per day. 1,000 per day at least looking at the information means a higher chance of those feeling relief from the onslaught of PsyOps. We can hope!

How very strange. The stats page shows that 6 hours ago the forum was in the middle of a 3-hour period with no visitors at all. I've never before noticed a single hour with no visitors. I would suggest that, given this 3-hour period occurred in the middle of the afternoon Eastern Standard Time, and in the evening in Europe, that it can't possibly be the case. While I'm not a statistician, it seems to me so unlikely it can't be true.
