sublimity wrote:^ It may be a DNS issue, Simon. I recently had a similar thing occur. If you haven't already, go to your internet's Local Area Connection properties, then the (TCP/IPv4) properties and change your primary DNS to: 8.8.8.8, your browser may connect to the internet. If that doesn't work, try setting your Alternate DNS to: 8.8.4.4, as well.

Hopefully that solves it.
Hey, thanks! :)

I'll try that - although I don't quite know where to go to change my primary DNS. Will try to find it tomorrow, as I get back home (off to bed now).

WoW! What a sublime advice, Sublimity!

That solved it! Am home now, and changed my primary DNS to 8.8.8.8 - thanks sooo much ! :) :) :)

Tomorrow I'll go and get my money back from my inept local technician! :P

Thank you for helping with that advice, Sublimity! Thank goodness Simon didn't have to resort to this:

Could try threatening the useless technician with that if he doesn't refund you, Simon

Avoiding "limited or no connectivity" issues in the future can typically be achieved by setting up a Static IP instead of relying on the dynamically allocated ones.

I used to have the same problem---browsers wouldn't work, but P2P stuff like AIM would be perfectly fine. Grrr.

I don't know, I've had a static IP for awhile now and it has still happened to me.

I've never had a DNS# become outdated, but you're right, that is also possible.

Keep in mind those are Google's DNS servers . If you don't wish to submit to their plan of total 'net domination, consider an alternative such as OpenDNS. http://www.opendns.com/support/dynamic_ip_windows/

We outed Brian Staverlie, we got Abirato?

Am I alone in thinking this is related?

I Like Ab too, but the timing is odd.

Time and time make no man an instant DJ - felcher, sorry fezter researcher turned twoofer in 2years? :o

Also he has Marcus Anus as a friend?

It's odd isn't it!

Angelina Jolie's tits will, no doubt, be for sale on Egay this evening. Slightly worn but in good condition.

I had the misfortune of having to sit through a half-hour of BBC junk news today while at the barber's. NOBODY reacted when I burst out laughing!
We're just getting news from Reuters that four of our murdering scum terrorists have been killed in Afghanistan, now over to our panel of experts to discuss Angelina Jolie's tits.
Followed by
And now over to Chris Hatfield in the Space Station singing Space Oddity...
Such garbage you have never heard the likes.

Message to all BBC scum :
Do the world a favour - COMMIT SUICIDE today!

Unfortunately, or fortunately, there will be no tits on Egay. The story is bullshit. Jolie's acting talent and commercial appeal resides mainly in her, yes, 'tits', there is no way she would be allowed to cut them off.
"[Jolie] underwent three months of operations earlier this year to remove breast tissue and replace it with implants".
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/entertainment ... d=10883720
And that is why she looks like she hasn't had the operation. Plausible deniability.

Award Winning Photo Faked
Image

What is potentially disturbing about this is that this photo is enhanced and not cut out of whole cloth. How many iterations of trickery does this entail? One could assume that the message is supposed to be that Palestinian suffering is so blasé that they can't make a good show of grief and they have to fake it and thus engendering , as it were, a feeling like the one promoted by that pig General Westmorland when referring to the Vietnamese that: "The Oriental doesn't put the same high price on life as does a Westerner. Life is plentiful. Life is cheap in the Orient."

Didn't know where to post this: http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/1556 ... -photoshop?
