Russian Meteor Shower 15-2-2013

If NASA faked the moon landings, does the agency have any credibility at all? Was the Space Shuttle program also a hoax? Is the International Space Station another one? Do not dismiss these hypotheses offhand. Check out our wider NASA research and make up your own mind about it all.

The final few seconds of this missile launch video look remarkably close to the event in Russia...

as does this 'supersonic p-800 Yakhont Cruise Missile"

<_<
I understand that car cameras are far more widespread in Russia than in most other countries. So the chance of catching such an event on a car camera is probably far greater than catchin it on a hand-held. But it works both ways - if you want to perpetrate such a hoax, Russia would be a good choice because you could fake lots of car videos withouth anyone wondering where they all came from.

What stroke me as odd was that the first three videos I saw about this (non-)event were not only car videos, they all had the asteroid coming in from the left and exploding right in the center of the image. Maybe there are reasons in support of this (like the majority of people living in one direction of the supposed "impact" location), but my first impression was immediately that these videos have been fabricated. The synchronicity of events with that big asteroid passing by the same day and the usual incoherent information from the news media added to that impression.

Though I wouldn't totally rule out the possibility of an object of this relatively small size "falling from the sky", it's my personal opinion that there has never - ever - been an impact of a real "killer" meteorite on earth. Not even one that supposedly killed the dinosaurs. The Tunguska-Event in 1908 doesn't look like a meteor impact either. The reasons for why I believe so are far too complex to be laid out here. But I suppose that those places on the surface of the earth that look like "ancient" craters were mostly created by volcanic events.

BTW, has anyone watched "Armageddon" (from 1998) lately? I saw it partially and wondered if it was intended as a parody or comedy, because I couln't find a hint about this anywhere, but I couldn't imagine anyone taking this piece of crap for remotely serious either.

Dear Rusty,

Here is an old post of mine about "Armageddon" (1998) - which is of course a Hollywood movie about an asteroid shower destroying the USA - twin towers in Manhattan included... It features this infamous line by a NASA guy (on the phone with an Army general who asks what the heck is going on):

"General, we've got 11.000 people at NASA trying to figure out that right now"

The Russian Academy of Sciences said so.
A near perfect round hole is what I would expect anyway. No matter what the angle was.
It's what I'd expect if the hole were cut with a chain saw. Show me a sheet of ice hit by a high speed object that left a perfectly circular hole. Was the meteor fragment a perfect sphere and it cut through the ice like Wile E. Coyote? It's ridiculous.

You say scientists work without presenting eveidence, yet you call this event a 'psy-op' without presenting evidence either?
The fake appearance and unlikely results coupled with the media immediately suggesting that NASA needs more funding to protect us from "dangers from space" is enough evidence for me that it is a psy-op.

Have you read this forum at all? Do you know what it is about? Are you simply here to invalidate it?

Just watching through this video compilation, pay attention to the video camera date/timer.

Most of the clips have ridiculous timers added on that don't look like any from real camera footage, while other clips have the complete wrong date - sometimes 2012-12-31 [0:36 in the above video] which (obviously) isn't even the correct year. When I saw this on TV, RT's banner was covering the top half of the date text, but 2012 was still readable on the bottom of the screen and I saw that as an overly sloppy mistake.

Other people have mentioned there being no sonic boom noise in the video footage while the story claims the sonic boom 18-32 miles high in the sky is what blew out windows... only some windows (some of the windows must have been of a much higher quality to withstand the force of 30 Hiroshimas). What a joke.

Seems like we're now seeing a new pattern in psy-op-ery:

1. release the fake story
2. monitor the web responses posted by the growing skeptical public
3. alter the original psy-op story accordingly to cover the holes in the original story
4. run stories about all the crazy conspiracy theories that have emerged about the story and how silly they are

The ridiculing of the post-psy-op "conspiracy theories" now seems to have become a standard part of psy-ops.

I call that progress!

In order to give the meteorite story some credibility Captain Mark Kelly is trotted out to talk about it. I saw some other of his news videos on this event and he has the same talking points. He always manages to tell us what it is like to see the meteorites falling below to earth from the ISS. Someone should ask him how the ISS manages to never get hit? It just irks me to see this guy talking like he really has ever been in space. :puke:

Nice. You just forgot:

5. while doing (4.) with "mainstream" media, use "alternative" media assets to simultaneously invent, encourage and inflate all the conspiracy theories ridiculed by "mainstream" and swell folk dialogue out of proportion to real evidence
-and-
6. if these "alternative" stories last long enough, steer these popular "alternative" theories into pre-existing side PsyOp projects and tie them into the next big deception. see: (1.)

Heavens! Is the image of a rock moving across the screen in little jerks at 1:38 supposed to be from real footage of a micrometeoroid just outside a porthole in the ISS? With Earth some twenty thousand miles away!?? Or is it an "educational" cartoon?

Image

By the way, micrometeoroids usually weigh less than a gram.

Media now reports that fragments have been found:
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/19/world ... .html?_r=0

According to this article a member of the Russian Academy of Science’s Committee on Meteorites says the meteor was about 2 feet in diameter and NASA says it weighed 7,000 tons.

They should name this meteor Flight 93. Pic from the NYT article. Does this indicate the sign was edited in?
