The Earth seen from space

If NASA faked the moon landings, does the agency have any credibility at all? Was the Space Shuttle program also a hoax? Is the International Space Station another one? Do not dismiss these hypotheses offhand. Check out our wider NASA research and make up your own mind about it all.

Since Earth is extremely bright in the darkness of space, EPIC has to take very short exposure images (20-100 milliseconds). The much fainter stars are not visible in the background as a result of the short exposure times.

You know, if I'd been asked to predict any stated caveats they'd make with regards to this...project, "no stars" would've been right up there.

Along with mystically-poor fundamental resolution, represented here as being 15km.

May I add another caveat:

We can't point this advanced satellite camera at any of the 6 Apollo landing sites

* Lunar reflection would blind the camera
* We know all there is to know about the moon, no need to waste taxpayer money
* We don't know where the sites are to the required degree of accuracy
* The Disney Company owns the rights
* We already have that wonderful LRO image, and that can't be improved on

BTW: If you look at the Blue Marble presented by NASA from the posted link and zoom in on the upper right-hand side of the earth's circumference, you'll see the jagged tell-tale signs of a copy & paste operation:

That wouldn't mean anything, of course, if they hadn't then bothered to add a few stars here & there in the blackness of the background

Kham´s post on the global cable network (viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1070&start=780#p2402460) serves as follow-up to anonjedi2´s post on the Australian city lights, as seen from "space" (viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1583&start=270#p2399330). Since internet and TV consumption is directly proportional to urban development, the two pictures should display the same pattern.
