Reportedly it was shot on 16mm B&W movie film from a distance of 10,000 yards by Berlyn Brixner who, it is said, used multiple movie cameras. Googling his name will give references.

It seems odd to me that they would use 16mm cameras as 35mm and larger format cameras were in use by Hollywood at the time and would certainly have produced better quality images. 16mm was usually reserved for hand-held work which would not be the case for a test like this.

It was shot with movie cameras, not still cameras.

A frame rate of 64 fps is equivalent to each frame being shot every 0.016 seconds. This was within the capability of better 16mm movie cameras of the 1940s era. Normal speed for movie film cameras is 24 fps or one frame every 0.042 seconds.

I am not laughing at your research. It's incredible that they would admit to this video at all. I just find this hilarious.

They bothered to record the explosion on proper photographic film, but they only released a tiny video of it? I find this ludicrous. Why wouldn't they scan it at the highest resolution available to them?

Here are the first three consecutive frames showing anything looped back and forth. The first frames are just black.



Doesn't quite match the 'taken from film' still does it?

It also baffles me that anyone would take that "bubble gum" seriously - and lend any sort of credibility to it.

But such is the power of imagery: If it is released by official sources, then it must be real - or treated as real until challenged by humble, private investigators who are forced to consider it possibly real - for obvious deontological reasons. Therein lies all the power of officially-released imagery. The official sources can always tell such private investigators: "Have you personally witnessed an H-bomb explode with your own eyes?" The PI would have to respond: "No." So the official sources can always reply: "Well, THERE you go! What do you know?"

Example:
- "Have you personally witnessed an airliner crashing into a steel building?"
- "No."
-"Well, THERE you go! What do you know what it should look like?"
