(RTTNews) - The US has decided to do away with the color-coded system designed to warn Americans about the possibility of a terror strike, the Homeland Security chief has been quoted as saying in reports on Thursday.
Delivering the State of Homeland Security address at the George Washington University, the top US security official, said a new advisory system tailor-made for providing more specific information regarding credible threats will replace Color-Codes which are to be phased out over a three-month period.
"When a threat develops that could impact you, the public, we will tell you, we will provide whatever information we can," she said.
As for the decision to scrap the existing system, Napolitano, said those warnings were "too often accompanied by little practical information." The newly designed one, on the other hand, is based on the concept "that we are all in this together, and that we all have a role to play," she added.

Thanks for the nod, Simon.
Truthfully, a lot of the 'programming' out there seems to be based on symbolism and 'little reminders' that keep people's heads repeating to themselves the dominant stories.
I am surprised the Old Glory hasn't been redesigned to keep people persistently engaged in the sim ...
