Psychic spies from China
Try to steal your mind's elation
And little girls from Sweden
Dreams of silver screen quotation
And if you want these kind of dreams
It's Californication

It's the edge of the world
And all of western civilization
The sun may rise in the East
At least it settles in the final location
It's understood that Hollywood
Sells Californication
:o

Pay your surgeon very well
To break the spell of aging
Celebrity skin is this your chin
Or is that war you're waging

First born unicorn
Hard core soft porn
Dream of Californication
Dream of Californication

Marry me girl be my fairy to the world
Be my very own constellation
A teenage bride with a baby inside
Getting high on information
And buy me a star on the boulevard
It's Californication

Space may be the final frontier
But it's made in a Hollywood basement
;)
Cobain can you hear the spheres
Singing songs off station to station
And Alderaan's not far away
It's Californication

Born and raised by those who praise
Control of population everybody's been there and
I don't mean on vacation

First born unicorn
Hard core soft porn
Dream of Californication
Dream of Californication

Destruction leads to a very rough road
But it also breeds creation
:)
And earthquakes are to a girl's guitar
They're just another good vibration
And tidal waves couldn't save the world
From Californication

Pay your surgeon very well
To break the spell of aging
Sicker than the rest
There is no test
But this is what you're craving

First born unicorn
Hard core soft porn
Dream of Californication

The swings on the playground don't even fit me anymore

Wow, ICfreely, some of that 'The Orb' stuff is too vague for me to understand how it exposes anything. (Maybe "off topic" but some nice beats in there, though.)

I want to nominate XTC for your consideration. :P

Andy Partridge has been writing some pretty deep stuff for decades.

Trivial point: I used their song Complicated Game in a video on LiveVideo where I explored the impossibility of reconciling the "second plane hit" angles from the official and "amateur" 9/11 videos.

Poor fellow had to live through the Thatcher administration — not saying we need to pity a successful rock star type person — just appreciating his sympathies in songs like:

REAL by REEL (from Drums and Wires, 1979)
In this secret time, invading on our privacy
Unknowing we mime, we play for the ministry
They can film you in bed
Or when you take a bath
They can tape every cry
They can tape every laugh
They can turn you around so you won't know what's

Real
by reel
Busy little bees recording everything you feel
On real by reel
You're documented down like rats
They're catching up on every squeal
On real by reel
Real by reel by real by
Real by reel by real by

In this hidden time, ignorance may help you to cope
Rehearsing for crimes, and sex just in government cinemascope
They can film you at work
Or when they let you play
They can tape what you think
They can tape what you say
They can blur your I.D. so you won't know what's

Real
by reel
They're busy little bees recording everything you feel
On real by reel
You're documented down like rats
They're catching up on every squeal
On real by reel
Real by reel by real by
Real by reel by real by

Now I lay me down to sleep
Knowing that your lenses peep
And now I eat my daily bread
And into the tape spool I'll be fed

The can film you in bed
Or when you take a bath
They can tape every cry
They can tape every laugh
They can turn you around so you won't know what's

REIGN of BLOWS (from The Big Express)
A critique of the philosophy of violence, whether it's State or revolutionary terrorism
Reign of blows, reign of blows
Reign of blows cascading down upon your shoulders
Far too many men dressed up as soldiers

The lamb is brought to the ground
Under the weight of the crown
A crown of thorns and dark deeds
The swastika and the hammer and symbol
Are sickles that reap only weeds

The reign of blows, reign of blows
Reign of blows precedes a storm of revolution
People have no place in their solution

So torture raises its head
Decked out in blue, white and red
And iron maidens will slam
And by the half light of burning republics
Joe Stalin looks just like Uncle Sam

Reign of blows, reign of blows
Reign of blows has washed away the corpse of Abel
Cain is now the king in every Babel

I just don't care who you are
When death draws up in his car
And talks in terrorist tones
Remember violence is only a vote for the
Black Queen to take back the throne

Reign of blows, reign of blows
Reign of blows, reign of blows
Reign of blows, reign of blows
"No Thugs In Our House" about the ignorance of family members about each other's activities, "Human Alchemy" about the colonialist slave trade (haven't heard another song that is so focused on specifically the evil philosophy of the slave trade from the perspective of Anglo culture), "Generals and Majors [always seem so unhappy until they get a war]" one of the most delightfully direct critiques of the military minded power mad and many other songs, though their repertoire varies a lot. Even their hit "Making Plans for Nigel" was an admittedly obtuse song said to be about the State planning our lives for us and using that as an excuse for their overreach.

I'll stop there for now, but there are some good ones. Being pop stars, XTC members did things like writing about those that gave their lives for England or some such, and ignorant things too — such as contributing to an AIDS benefit album. But for Andy I really would chalk this up to well-meaning and duped and earnestly wanting to express something rather than propaganda-izing folks. Who else writes songs (yes, more than one) about the religion of worshiping cars and how the industry of selling them to everyone disrupts life, the landscape, etc.? Romantic bloke.

GZA - Unexplained/Swordsman

full link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNzjof2E5z0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNzjof2E5z0

[Hook]

When a motherfucker steps out his place
And gets slapped in his motherfuckin face
Just because the motherfucker tried to base
The G.O.D., the G.O.D
And while I see his whole clique pass us by
Motherfuckers think they qualify
And for those niggas want to try
The G.O.D., the G.O.D

[Verse 1]

Yo, I'm not caught up in politics
I'm no black activist on a so-called scholar's dick
I come through with the Wu and drop math
And versatile freestyle bombs and phonographs
And deliver, all things in number and weight
Searched to death, on how living things relate
Cause at a young age, I was molded in a religion I relied on
And got caught up in superstition
Scared to split pole, ducked black cats
Once in a while, threw salt over my back
But with knowledge of self from off the shelf
Made things seemed complicated now small like elves
So turn off the lights, light a candle, and have a seance
Pull the lid off the Dean Martin scandal
Witches, warlocks, spooks and holy ghosts
RZA let's defraud the hoax

[Hook]

[Verse 2]

We were on the same ship when the slaves were checked
I had to pull your card, you was on the top deck
So I plotted my escape, I saw the thin line between love and hate
And fast from the hog on the plate
I suffered brutal pain, from whips and chains
Punishments that were set to wash the brain
So look listen observe and also respect this jewel
Drawed up, detect and reflect this
Light I shine, because my powers is refined
Through the truth, which manifest through eternal minds
Purified gases and masses the same elements
That helped spark civilization classes
I see brothers quote math plus degrees
Limp professin ass niggas can't feed they own seeds

Intro to a Theory of Harmony by Dub FX

full link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1Hy9fabrcw
weak at the knees in the mouth of the beast with a fist in the air i march on
for the hunter is hunted, its sword has been blunted by echoes of hunger and song
it's blinded by lust from an ultimate plane in a castle that lives in the sky,
my mission at hand is to murder its plan and bring down the all seeing eye
together we stand in the fight for the right to be free from the lies and deceit
our brains have been washed and our souls have been lost yet we will not back down or retreat
they will not give up it is obvious, so we will unite with our consciousness
and eventually we are going to repossess the freedoms we had while we clean the mess
now as we stare into space i can see the stress
of the physical plane of our consciousness
the things that we want we can manifest all we need is to focus

in the land of dreams its an endless sea with a conscious breed for eternity
we can all unite there collectively but we need to believe it's easy see
cause there are too many minds who are waking up and there are too many lies in the media
and now the youth of our culture is shaping up to be the spiritual army who will fight ya
but if we believe the world is gonna end we can make it happen
so don't pretend that it's not up to you and you've got no control,
the power lives within your soul

Gaze at the earth from a distance (x8)
I went to post this, then I saw a different Dub FX posted on the first post of this thread. I don't know if this song was posted later, but I didn't take the time to look. I think it's a great rallying cry, although I don't think that just believing we can make a change is enough to bring about that change, but it's a necessary place to start. If you don't believe change is possible, you'll never do anything to change it. Anyway, I dig his music and the way he makes it. From what I can tell he started as a busker and gained recognition through word of mouth. I believe he has resisted signing with any major labels.

Here is a full concert of his where he starts with this rallying cry: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6qDYd2G8RY

And here is link to my favorite song of his, "Flow," although it doesn't really speak directly to raising consciousness or anything like that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye1tC-sDqC4

Lasha Darkmoon

Dr Lasha Darkmoon (b.1978) is an Anglo-American ex-academic with higher degrees in Classics whose political articles and poems have been translated into several languages. Most of her political essays can be found at The Occidental Observer and The TruthSeeker. Her own website, Darkmoon.me, is now within the top 1 percent of websites in the world according to the Alexa ranking system.
According to Dr. Darkmoon's latest article the so-called "Moronification of Western Man" is a consequence of immigration.
The Moronification of Western Man: Are we all becoming more stupid?

“See the happy moron!
He doesn’t give a damn.
I wish I were a moron—
My God, perhaps I am!”

— Anon, Popular Rhyme

https://www.darkmoon.me/2016/the-moroni ... re-stupid/
Me so solly, Lasha, for dumbing down your civilization and lowering the collective eye-queue of your peoples, my higher degreed Anglo-American Queen. Please find it in your heart to forgive my kind.

Now, shall we dance? :D

Wake Me Up When September Ends

From the band who brought you "American Idiot"

full link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ee_uujKuJMI

What do the words have to do with the video? Perhaps it's all in the interpretation.

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends
Like my father's come to pass
Seven years has gone so fast
Wake me up when September ends

Here comes the rain again
Falling from the stars
Drenched in my pain again
Becoming who we are
As my memory rests
But never forgets what I lost
Wake me up when September ends

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends
Ring out the bells again
Like we did when spring began
Wake me up when September ends

Here comes the rain again
Falling from the stars
Drenched in my pain again
Becoming who we are
As my memory rests
But never forgets what I lost
Wake me up when September ends

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends
Like my father's come to pass
Twenty years has gone so fast
Wake me up when September ends
Wake me up when September ends
Wake me up when September ends

There is a very clever kid named Nick Neil Cicierega and I apologize deeply to him in advance if this at all offends rather than honors him, but I have to give a shout out (or maybe more of an indoor voice speak out) to his prog nerd rock band Lemon Demon.

He has several deep songs that are, besides being very entertaining to me, also casually exposing truth that I hope hits home with his younger generation. He plays very much with the public's collective awareness of how creepy people with artificial power can be to other people. Feels like a humanist, despite the electronic sound. He is most known for a very light parody project called "Harry Potter Puppet Pals" but has grown into an incredible artist in his own right. Especially many of his songs from the last few years. ("Spirit Phone" era). Worth good attention in my opinion.

For example, he wrote "Ben Bernanke" written from the perspective of the titular Federal Reserve goon, and it's charmingly icky.

Another song is called "Crisis Actors", and it's about — well, you can guess.

One of my favorites is about the disturbing world of Public Relations and advertising. The "Unreliable Narrator" lyrics concept is taken to an extreme with the song sounding like the seduction play of any average branding agency.

Redesign your logo
We know what were doing
We are here to help you
Everythings connected
Time is of the essence
We live in the future
Color makes us hungry
Everythings connected

Redesign your logo
We know how to do it
Make the calculations
Put them into action
We will find the angle
Starting with convention
On to innovation
Everythings connected

Here we have a circle
Smooth and inoffensive
This will be the basis
For your revolution
Gravity is crucial
Geomagnetism
With some calculation
We will find your logo

DNA is crucial
We must understand it
In the human genome
We will find your logo
Everyone will see it
Every demographic
If they fail to see it
Are they even human?
Every demographic
Men 18 to 30
College educated
Women over 40
Suicidal poets
Fat midwestern fathers
Kids with diabetes
Pentecostal preachers

Mothers under 20
Interracial couples
Atheist professors
Government employees
Xenophobes and racists
Private aviators
Everyone will see it
Every demographic

Think about it this way
Guided evolution
This will be a new breed
Cutting edge but classic
Fully complimentary
Bold and self-sufficient
Symbolizing freedom
And, of course, your product

When the logos finished
Then we will unveil it
Seven billion people
Instantly enlightened
Everyones rebranded
All the fightings over
Say goodbye to conflict
That designs rejected

Theres no longer language
Only recognition
Theres no longer country
Only corporate colors
Color makes us hungry
Hunger makes us human
Everyone can see it
Everythings connected

Redesign your logo
Give us all your money
Redesign your logo
Give us all your money
Redesign your logo
Give us all your money
Redesign your logo
Give us all your money
There are also songs of Lemon Demon which, while not touching on fakery, expose the absurdity of society (and I feel which subtly ask people to become more aware of the culture). I genuinely wish the fellow great success. It is rare to find an enlightened sort of young person (like, really enlightened, not the fucked up sort of backwards use of that word that's popular lately) willing to make art for art's sake these days. Godspeed dude.

I don’t know many songs in which the official story on 9/11 was explicitly put in doubt.

Jadakiss ft. Anthony Hamilton - Why; NOT in the censored video "Why did Bush knock down the towers?": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Why_(Jadakiss_song)

full link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-cpL--0AQA
Yo, why is Jadakiss as hard as it gets?
Why is the industry designed to keep the artist in debt?
And why them dudes ain't ridin' if they part of your set?
And why they never get it poppin' but they party to death?
Yeah, and why they gonna give you life for a murder?
Turn around, only give you eight months for a burner?
It's goin' down; why they sellin' niggas' CD's for under a dime?
And if it's all love, daddy, why you come with your 9?
Why my niggas ain't get that cake?
Why is a brother up north better than Jordan
That ain't get that break?
Why you don't stack instead of tryin' to be fly?
Why is rattin' at an all time high? Why are you even alive?
Why they kill 2Pac and Chris?

Why at the bar you ain't take straight shots instead of poppin' Cris?
Why them bullets have to hit that door?
Why did Kobe have to hit that raw? Why'd he kiss that whore?
Why?!

All that I’ve been given
Is this pain that I’ve been livin'
They got me in the system
Why they gotta do me like that?
Tried to make it my way
But got sent up on the highway
Why? Oh why?
Why they gotta do me like that?

Why do niggas push pounds and powder?
Why did Bush knock down the towers?
Why you around them cowards?

Why Aaliyah have to take that flight?
Why my nigga D ain't pull out his Ferrari?
Why he take that bike?
Why they gotta open your package and read your mail?
Why they stop lettin' niggas get degrees in jail?
Why you gotta do 85% of your time?
And why do niggas lie in 85% of they rhymes?
Why a nigga always want what he can't have?
Why I can't come through in the pecan Jag?
Why did crack have to hit so hard?
Even though it's almost over, why niggas can't get no jobs?
Why they come up with the witness protection?
Why they let the Terminator win the election?
Come on, pay attention!

Why I sell in the stores what you could sell in the streets?
Why I say the hottest shit but be sellin' the least?

All that I’ve been given
Is this pain that I’ve been livin'
They got me in the system
Why they gotta do me like that?
Tried to make it my way
But got sent up on the highway
Why? Oh why?
Why they gotta do me like that?

Why Halle have to let a white man pop her to get a Oscar?
Why Denzel have to be crooked before he took it?
Why they didn't make the CL6 with a clutch?
And if you don't smoke
Then why the hell you reachin' for my dutch?!
Why rap? ‘Cause I need air time
Why be on the curb with a "Why lie? I need a beer" sign?
Why all the young niggas is dyin'?
‘Cause they moms at work
They pops is gone, they livin' with iron
Why they ain't give us a cure for AIDS?
Why my diesel have fiends in the spot on the floor for days?
Why you screamin' like it's a slug? It's only the hawk
Why my buzz in L.A. ain't like it is in New York?
Why they forcin' you to be hard?
Why ain't you a thug by choice?
Why the whole world love my voice?
Why? Try to tell 'em that it's the flow, son
And you know why they made the new twenties?
‘Cause I got all the old ones — that's why!

All that I’ve been given
Is this pain that I’ve been livin'
They got me in the system
Why they gotta do me like that?
Tried to make it my way
But got sent up on the highway
Why? Oh why?
Why they gotta do me like that?

Jadakiss started his career as part of the group of musicians surrounding the Notorious BIG (Christopher Wallace) and Puff Daddy.
Often sampled since 9/11 is Biggie Smalls saying “blow up like the World Trade” from Juicy (1994).

You never thought that hip hop would take it this far
Now I'm in the limelight 'cause I rhyme tight
Time to get paid, blow up like the World Trade
Born sinner, the opposite of a winner
Remember when I used to eat sardines for dinner
Peace to Ron G, Brucey B, Kid Capri
Funkmaster Flex, Lovebug Starsky
I'm blowin' up like you thought I would
Call the crib, same number same hood
It's all good

Lyrics :
I ain't got a backbone, and my band's overblown
If you see me close up, then you might turn to stone

I hoax you all the time

Truth is nobody died, everybody was lying
Look at my ugly face, not one tear, only smiles

I hoax you all the time

I can tell by that look in your eye
You don't believe a word I say because you know I'm lying
One by one they're gonna take all your rights away
I can tell by that look in your eye
The Bataclan shooting was just a hoax and no-one died
Can you guess at how much we're all being paid?

Crisis actors were used, some from Hollywood too
So while everyone snoozed, we manufactured the news

I hoax you all the time

Now we're on the tv, CNN,BBC
Plugging our charity, can we have some money?

I hoax you all the time

I can tell by that look in your eye
You don't believe a word I say because you know I'm lying
One by one they're gonna take all your rights away
I can tell by that look in your eye
The Bataclan shooting was just a hoax and no-one died
Can you guess at how much we're all being paid?

Can you guess at how much we're all being paid?
Can you guess at how much we're all being paid?

The Bataclan Lie, where nobody died (X4)
