ENDEAVOUR - and the spaced-out NASA efforts

If NASA faked the moon landings, does the agency have any credibility at all? Was the Space Shuttle program also a hoax? Is the International Space Station another hoax? Do not dismiss these hypotheses offhand. Check out our wider NASA research.

NASA TV youtube channel just published a series of videos of the shuttle being carried by the service plane flying over Washington DC. In some of the videos, great care is given in showing people taking pictures of it, because apparently everyone has been warned before (on a tuesday) to skip work and park themselves on the flight path, so they could document this so important event:

I guess this is because the economy is doing so well we don't have anything better to do.

The landing at Dulles airport includes the whole dull conversation between tower control and the plane. Why? Who knows.

Nice!
But I wonder how this flyover of the Capitol cupola (as depicted above) could possibly have been videotaped like THIS:

How do those thin struts attaching the shuttle to the plane withstand the forces of wind during flight?

Dear Fbenario,

The Shuttle is attached by a very strong bolt. Didn't you know?

This one bolt is so strong that it even secures the Space Shuttle as it rockets up through the atmosphere at 11.000 miles an hour. We should all ask NASA to reveal the secret of this bolt - so that we can reduce the costs of plumbers fixing our bathrooms. :P

This screenshot and the other one I posted were not really specific of the shuttle absurdity, rather more about the words, or, in the above case, the letters appearing in the video. Just something funny, I guess.

I don't see how the 747's vertical stabilizer & rudder can function with the mass of the shuttle completely blocking the airflow to it.

The weight of the fully loaded Space Shuttle was 110 000 kgs and if the bolt was of special steel with yield stress say 5 000 kgs/cm², the critical area of the bolt in tension is 22 cm². As the bolt is subject to shear and we need a safety margin, let's say we need 100 cm² area of the bolt or diameter 11.3 cm. However, if the Space Shuttle was just an empty (Hollywood style) mock-up of thin aluminium that looks like the real thing and weighs much less - 5 000 kgs - and is blown to pieces up in the sky, the bolt diameter may be much smaller ... say 3 cm!

Hollycrap, that's a real cute picture of the shuttle, riding its mother's back. Kinda reminds me of something!
