Re: The 'cold' of space and our Universe that isn't.

Sorry - 1 kg of gold is the same anywhere, Narvik, Quito, Mars, Moon and has the same mass as the platinum-iridium 1 kg prototype at Paris that can be used to compare masses. Yes, but it's not necessarily easy to correctly measure 1kg - an old fashioned set of scales with weights will work, however...

Re: The 'cold' of space and our Universe that isn't.

I certainly do have problems in understanding how our atmosphere moves synchronously with the Earth... I think that's one of the key questions here, and probably the source of misunderstanding between myself and Frost. My argument was only about the behavior of objects, IF we take for granted that ...

Re: The 'cold' of space and our Universe that isn't.

Hi rusty When you jump out of the car even with the big wind on your back you finally will loose that speed. Why? Because friction of ground is not equal to friction of air. If you'd somehow escape gravity (anti-gravity-suit) and thus won't hit the ground (ouch) and have the wind at your back with ...

Re: The 'cold' of space and our Universe that isn't.

I'm still not in a position to fully support a GC or HC or any other model of the universe, but I'm pretty sure that no model can fully grasp "reality". A model is a model. It serves as a means to an end, that is to make predictions, and if the model successfully does, it's not a bad model...

Re: Fakery in Orbit: THE ISS

I wish I knew how to do the trigonometry part ... OK...here it is: x = distance from ISS to horizon = ? h = altitude of ISS above surface = ~400km r = earth radius = ~6350km Then we have x^2 + r^2 = (r+h)^2 Resolving the equation for x yields about 2289 km If the ISS in the "Florida&q...

Re: Fakery in Orbit: THE ISS

So my point is: If it can be shown by way of simple calculation that pictures allegedly taken in orbit are incompatible with an altitude of 400 km, then we would have very objective evidence NASA is lying. Interesting point. The question of curvature related to altitude has been on my mind lately t...

Re: MARS & the Curiosity Rover - NASA's latest hoax

Looks like we're on the same page now, Heiwa. I think what get's clear from the simulation is that deceleration can only kick in from 60km downward, because the atmosphere is much too thin up there. Also, small details like the entry angle and the factual density, depending on the temperature can ma...

Re: MARS & the Curiosity Rover - NASA's latest hoax

I agree that with an Mars atmosphere entry angle of 15.3° and speed 5 900 m/s at time t of our space ship, the Mars horizon is ahead of us ... at that time t of entry and your figure. However, the vertical velocity vector downwards is sin 15.3° = 0.2639 = 1 557 m/s and we will, unfortunately, thus ...

Re: MARS & the Curiosity Rover - NASA's latest hoax

OK, here are the first three simulation runs in plain text...the fourth one with angle 10.0° is a bit lengthy... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Planet Radius : 3386 km Planet Mass: 641900000000000000000 t Planet Atmosphere Upper Limit: 40 km Atm...

Re: MARS & the Curiosity Rover - NASA's latest hoax

Well it is, because if you approach Mars at an angle of 10° relative the horizon at 5 900 m/s velocity, you hit Mars ground or a Mars mountain side very soon, e.g. about after 3 minutes. :o  Why do you think so??? Just look at the following simple picture: http://www.abload.de/img/trigonomyw...

Re: MARS & the Curiosity Rover - NASA's latest hoax

Hm, if you arrive with an inclination of 10° at 125 000 m altitude with a velocity of 5 900 m/s, the vertical speed vector (speed vertically down) is of the order 1 024 m/s. Say that friction/turbulence can reduce the vertical speed down to 300 m/s, when reaching ground, the average vertical speed ...

Re: MARS & the Curiosity Rover - NASA's latest hoax

Thanks Fred, that sounds feasible. I'll see if I can give it a shot. OK...here's what I came up with. The relation of density, temperature and pressure is described by the formula p = rho * Rs * T p = pressure (unit: Pa = kg / (m * s^2)) rho = density (unit: kg/m^3) Rs = specific gas constant (unit...

What are the odds that one of the very few persons who actually saw a PLANE hit the tower is at the same time one of the few persons who not only knew many of the alleged victims, but also worked in one of the towers? But sure, why not ask him some questions? I'd ask him about the offices and the co...

Re: RedBull SpaceDive

As they cut the video just when this takes place - you only see a bit of the capsule and not the balloon - we do not know if the balloon lifting was slowed down. I think that's the whole point about this discussion - the crucial second is virtually missing in the video, at least we'd like to see it...

Re: MARS & the Curiosity Rover - NASA's latest hoax

Well, how do we derive a density profile from this pressure profile? rusty You use boyles ideal gas law PV=nRT You look on my data page http://cluesforum.info/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1391&p=2375006#p2375006 You look up the atomic weights for each gas and their percentage by volume (the left ov...
